Synthetic tokens
iAAPL and future synthetics: standard ERC-20s controlled only by the vault.
Token design#
- Standard ERC-20 (18 decimals), freely transferable.
- Only the vault can
mintorburnFrom; the vault address is fixed at deployment (VAULT).
Registering new markets#
A market binds a Pyth price id to a synthetic token. Only the deployer can register, each price id only once, and the token must report this vault as its VAULT. The deployer has no other power: it cannot pause, upgrade, or move funds.
